Fitting the burner to the boiler
After preparing the frontal section of the boiler in observance of coupling template dimensions, as
indicated in figure 2, it is necessary to fix the burner coupling plate (1) with the two lower screws
(2), making sure that you insert the supplied insulating card (3). Then lock the burner in place via
the screw (4) and fix the coupling plate with the two upper screws (5). Fit the gas feed valves unit
by interposing the O-ring and tightening the gas feed valves unit fixing screws (6).After fitting the
valve unit on the burner, check that there are no gas leaks during the first ignition stage.
Connect up to the gas piping as illustrated in the diagram (figure 4).
Preliminary system checks
Before using the burner make sure that:
• the boiler and the system are loaded and that any gate valves are open.
• the boiler and flue fume adjuster shutters are open
• electrical circuit fuses are of the correct rating
• gas pipes have been bled via the pressure take-off coupling
• Boiler thermostat has been adjusted to a value higher than boiler temperature
• main switch contacts are open
• contacts on any other control equipment (humidity switches, pressure switches, timer switches
etc.) are closed.
BURNER IGNITION
AND ADJUSTMENT
•
Open the gas check valve.
• Press the reset button (17)
• Close the main switch (i.e. turn it to on)
• The burner will start working and, after going through the start-up cycle, the flame is formed; this
stays lit until it is turned off by a control device.
• As soon as the burner starts working it is necessary to adjust gas flow-rate on the regulator and
air quantity by rotating screw "A" (figure 9).
• Fine-tuning of combustion can be obtained by shifting the combustion head longitudinally. To shift
the combustion head longitudinally rotate the screw "D" (Figure 12).
MAINTENANCE
N.B.
Before carrying out any maintenance and cleaning tasks always cut the power supply via the
main switch and close the gas valve.
The gas burner does not require frequent maintenance and it is thus sufficient to have it servi-
ced by professionally qualified FINTERM servicing centre personnel at the end of the winter.
Should, however, you wish to proceed with checking and cleaning of combustion head parts it is
advisable to loosen the gas feed valves unit fixing screws (6).
Loosen the screw (4) which attaches the burner to the boiler coupling plate and remove the burner.
Disassemble the draught tube (21) to gain access to the combustion head.
For thorough cleaning of the ignition electrodes it is necessary to disassemble the diffuser (19) by
loosening the fixing screws (20).
Clean carefully so as not to shift the position of the electrodes.
