– Should you decide not to use the unit for some time it is good practice to turn the main switch (which powers
all electrical parts such as pumps, burner etc.) to off.
3b) USING WITH GAS, LIGHT OIL OR OTHER FUELS
General information
– Burner installation must be carried out in compliance with the laws and standards in force, in
accordance with manufacturer 's instructions and by professionally qualified personnel only:
erroneous installation may cause injury to persons and animals or damage to objects for which the manufac-
turer cannot be held liable.
– Before installing it is advisable to clean all fuel feed tubes thoroughly so as to remove any residue that might
compromise efficient burner operation.
– When igniting the burner for the first time have professionally qualified personnel carry out the
following checks:
a) check for a proper internal and external seal on the fuel feed system.
b) adjust fuel flow according to the power requested by the burner.
c) check that the burner is fed with a compatible fuel type.
d) check that fuel feed pressure is within the range indicated on the ID plate.
e) check that the fuel feed system is sized for the flow-rate needed at the burner and that it is fitted with all
the safety devices required by the standards in force.
– If you decide not to use the burner for a certain period, close off the fuel feed tap(s).
– Special information for the use of gas
– Have the following checked by professionally qualified personnel:
a) that the feed line and gas train conform with standards and regulations in force.
b) that all gas connections are properly sealed.
c) that ventilation apertures are sized so as to guarantee the minimum air flow required by the standards in
force and that, in any case, there is sufficient ventilation for perfect combustion.
– Do not use gas pipes as earth connections.
– Switch off the burner when not in use and always close the gas tap.
– In the event of prolonged absence close the main boiler gas feed tap.
– If you smell gas:
a) do not use electrical switches, telephones or any other device that may generate a spark.
b) open all doors and windows to create a current of air and purify the air in the room.
c) close off the gas taps.
d) seek assistance from professionally qualified personnel.
– Do not obstruct air vents in the room where a gas unit is installed so as to prevent dangerous
situations such as the formation of toxic and explosive mixtures.
