For special voltages and/or the 60 Hz version, the performance
data can be taken from the pump name plate. With some special
types or motors there is no GS approval – GS approval on pump
name plate where applicable.

2.1 Intended use
BCM 40 series plastic centrifugal pumps are suitable for
transporting chemically neutral and many chemically non neutral
liquids for which a leakage-free operation is required. Installation
should preferably be carried out above tanks containing liquids
which could cause danger to people or animals if leaked. The
materials used guarantee corrosion resistance. Acids and bases
with a high concentration can also be facilitated, as well as watery
solutions.
WARNING
Be aware of the pressure, temperature, viscosity and density
limitations. Suitability with the diversity of chemically non-neutral
liquid mixtures and flushing fluids cannot always be predicted.
Suitability can be determined in a test run under operating
conditions.
 This is to be strictly observed in industries with
determined rules and regulations, for example in the
foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco industry.
5 Installation
Installation note BCM 40 positioned over the liquid stand. Valid for
water temperatures of 20 °C with a standard air pressure of
1033 h Pa.
 We recommend installing a non-return valve in the suction
line.
