Safety valve
The safety valve is set to the maximum allowable pressure of the pressure vessel and protects the
compressor. As soon as the air in the vessel reaches or exceeds the maximum permissible operating
pressure, the safety valve opens and lets the compressed air escape, thus reducing the pressure in the
compressor.
ATTENTION: Wear safety glasses. Check the safety valve by following these steps:
DANGER:
If air leaks after releasing the ring, or if the valve is stuck and cannot be actuated by the ring, remove the
compressor from operation. The safety valve must be replaced if it cannot be actuated or if it leaks air after
the ring is released. DO NOT use the air compressor until the safety valve has been replaced. Use of
the air compressor under these conditions can cause death or serious bodily injury.
Thermal overload protector
This compressor has an automatic thermal protector that shuts down the motor if it overheats or has too
much current. This protector is a "trip and hold" protector. To reset it, unplug the compressor and allow
it to cool completely. This should allow the automatic overload to reset. The protector cannot be reset
unless it is unplugged.
The motor must cool down before it can be started. The motor may restart automatically without warning
if the plug is plugged into the outlet and the motor is turned on.
ATTENTION: The compressor must be turned off.
1. Open the drain plug at the bottom of the boiler
completely.
2. Tilt the compressor to one side so that the drain plug
is at the lowest point of the boiler and wait until the
condensate water has drained completely.
3. Close the drain plug again.
1. Turn on the air compressor and allow the reservoir to fill.
The compressor will shut off when the pressure reaches the
preset maximum.
2. Turn off the air compressor.
Pull the safety valve ring to release the air for several seconds.
ALWAYS use your hand to prevent the rapidly moving air
from passing over your face.
4. Release the ring and the air will stop coming out.
