• Prior to commissioning/using/testing the lever hoist,
the user/tester must be instructed on the basis of the

operating manual. He/she must have read it attentively
and understood it!

• The safety instructions must be observed!
• The operating manual must always be kept with or in
the immediate vicinity of the product!

Qualified person

On account of their vocational training, professional
experience and recent occupational activity, the person
5
qualified to carry out the test has the required know­
5
ledge to test the lifting devices.

Furthermore, a person qualified for examination is
familiar with the relevant national occupational safety
8
regulations, accident prevention regulations and gene­
8
rally recognised rules of technology (see Chapter 3
8
Legal and normative bases and regulations).

The activity as a person authorised to carry out the
9
examination requires a written assignment by the
9
employer.
Also, the person authorised to carry out the examination
must have been instructed on the basis of this operating
manual and must have read and understood it.
The required special qualification must be acquired
through successful participation in internal or external
further or advanced training.
Competent person
A person is deemed to be competent if they have the
necessary specialist knowledge and if they have suffi­
cient knowledge in the field of lifting devices on the
basis of their specialist training, professional experience
or a corresponding professional activity carried out in
the recent past.
Furthermore, a competent person is familiar with the
relevant national occupational safety regulations, acci­
dent prevention regulations and generally recognised
rules of technology (see Chapter 3 Legal and normative
bases and regulations) to such an extent that they can
assess the safe use of lifting devices.
Also, the competent person must have been instructed
on the basis of this operating manual and must have
read and understood it.
An activity as a competent person requires a written
assignment by the employer.
The special knowledge must be kept up to date through
successful participation in regular training courses.
