6.1
Notes on formation of burrs at the cut
Burrs on the cut length of threaded rod rarely form on the side close to the movable cutting arm. On account
of the design of the product, burrs on the cut length of threaded rod tend to form more frequently on the
side close to the stationary cutting arm.
Burrs can also form if:
•
The threaded rod is not seated correctly in the thread of the cutting blades.
•
The cutting blades are in poor condition → page 26.
•
The thread of the threaded rod is uneven.
•
The securing screws of the cutting blades are not correctly tightened.
If a nut cannot be threaded on to the rod because of a burr remove the burr, for example with a pair of
nippers, a file or an adjustable threading die.
