Never use the generator without an air filter, with a
damaged or incorrectly installed filter. If this happens, dust
intake to the engine will occur, causing rapid breakdowns.
This type of damage is not covered by the distributor's
guarantee.
1. Remove the bolts, then remove the cover;
2. Loosen the retaining springs and remove the filter cover;
3. Remove the filter element and blow out with compressed
air until it is completely clean. If it is very dirty wash it
with water and detergent and let it dry completely;
4. Install the filter element and assemble the remaining
components in reverse order to disassemble;
Using a clogged and dirty filter will restrict the air flow in
the carburettor affecting the generator performance.
To ensure proper engine operation, the spark plug should
be clean and with adequate gap between the electrodes.
1. Remove the side cover, the spark plug cap and fit spark
plug wrench;
2. Turn counter clockwise to unscrew the spark plug and
check that it is clean;
3. If it is not clean, remove the debris accumulated on the
electrode with a steel brush;
4. Measure the distance between the electrodes with
appropriate tools. The distance should be between 0.7-
0.8 mm. If necessary, bend the electrode until enough
gap is reached;
5. Test the spark plug:
▪ Connect the cap to the spark plug;
▪ Keep the spark plug electrode in contact with the engine
body and simultaneously pull the recoil starter;
▪ If the there is a weak and or a non-existent spark
between the electrodes, test with a new spark plug;
▪ If the problem persists with the new spark plug, repair or
replace the ignition system;
6. Check that the sealing washer is in good condition;
7. Put the spark plug by hand to avoid damage to the
thread and tighten to compress the washer using the
wrench provided. A loose spark plug may overheat and
cause damage to the engine;
8. Place the spark plug cap and side cover.
Preparing storage for long periods is vital to avoid problems
and increase the useful life of the generator.
Storage
Never store the equipment with petrol in the tank.
Depending on the region and storage conditions, petrol can
deteriorate and oxidize, causing damages in the carburettor
and fuel system, difficult starts and clogging caused by
particle accumulation.
If you have stored the machine with petrol on the tank, to
avoid
difficult
start-ups,
recommendations below considering the previous storage
period:
Less than 1 month:
▪ Follow the usual procedure;
1 month to 1 year:
▪ Drain all petrol from the fuel tank;
▪ Run the engine until it stops due to lack of fuel.
Over 1 year:
▪ Drain all petrol from the fuel tank;
▪ Run the engine until it stops due to lack of fuel.
▪ Change the oil;
▪ Remove the spark plug and add engine oil (5-10 cl) to
the cylinder;
▪ Pull the recoil starter to dispense the oil into the cylinder
and reinstall the spark plug;
▪ Pull the recoil starter slowly while feeling resistance. The
piston rises and the intake and exhaust valves are
closed. Leaving the engine in this position will help
protect against internal corrosion.
Cleaning
Clean the generator after each use. Careful handling
protects the generator and extends its service life.
