If the air supply is disconnected or if
there is a reduced operating pressure,
switch the device off. Check the operating
pressure and restart with optimum operating
pressure.
Wear a safety helmet if you are
performing overhead work. This will
prevent personal injury.
Never put the device down before the
tool has come to a complete stop. Lay
the device down in a secure location. The
rotating tool may grab the surface and pull the
device out of your control.
Support plates or large workpieces to
reduce the risk of a recoil caused by the
cut-off wheel jamming. Large workpieces
can bend under their own weight. The workpiece
must be supported on both sides of the wheel,
both in the vicinity of the cutting slit and also at
the edge.
Switch the device off and wait until the
tool has come to a standstill before
touching it. Never try to touch the tool
while it is still rotating. Risk of injury und risk
of kickback!
Switch the power supply control device
back on in the event of a loss of power.
Cut-off wheels are only intended to
remove material using the edge. Never
grind with the side surface of a cut-off wheel.
The lateral force can cause the cut-off wheel to
fracture.
Store abrasives according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Ensure that you do not damage any
buried service lines with the device.
Contact with electrical cables can lead to fires
and electric shocks. The device is not electrically
isolated. Damage to a gas pipe can result in an
explosion. Damage to a water pipe results in
property damage.
Special safety instructions
When working on a workpiece,
additional noise loading can result. Inade-
quate hearing protection can result in permanent
hearing damage. Wear hearing protection.
Vibrations can cause damage to the
nerves and impairment of the circulation
in the hands and arms. Proper handling and
maintenance of the device can prevent unne-
cessary vibrations. Where possible use a stand,
clamping device or a compensating device, to
hold the device.
When used for long periods, the result
can be unpleasant sensations in the
hands and arms, as well as in the neck
and shoulder area or in other body
parts.
If symptoms such as a permanent or
reoccurring feeling of illness, pain,
crushing, pins and needles, deafness,
burning or stiffness occur, do not ignore
them. Inform your employer and visit a doctor.
When using abrasives that are supplied
with and/or used with reducing
adapters or bushings, check that the
adapter or bushing does not touch the
front face of the support flange. Ensure
that the tensioning force provides sufficient rotati-
onal drive to prevent slipping of the abrasive.
