Performance Tests and Calibration
Calibration Overview
This manual contains procedures for verifying the instrument performance, as well
as procedures for making adjustments where necessary.
The performance test procedure verifies that the U1253B true RMS OLED
multimeter is operating within its published specifications. The adjustment
procedure ensure that the multimeter remains within its specifications until the
next calibration.
Make sure you have read
NOTE
the instrument.
Closed-case electronic calibration
The U1253B true RMS OLED multimeter features closed-case electronic
calibration. In other words, no internal electro-mechanical adjustment is required.
This instrument calculates correction factors based on the input reference signals
you feed into it during the calibration process. The new correction factors are
stored in nonvolatile EEPROM memory until the next calibration (adjustment) is
performed. The contents of this nonvolatile EEPROM memory will not change
even when the power is switched off.
