– The electrical connections must be done
by an electrician according to IEC
60364-1.
Warning
The highest allowed net impedance at the
electrical connection point (refer to technical
data) is not to be exceeded.
Danger
– Check whether the voltage indicated on
the type plate corresponds to the voltage
of the socket.
– Unsuitable extension cables can be haz-
ardous. Only use extension cables out-
doors which have been approved for this
purpose and labelled with a sufficient ca-
ble cross section:
1 -10 m: 2.5 mm
10 -30 m: 4 mm
Water connection
For connection values, see type plate/tech-
nical data.
Observe regulations of water supplier.
Use a fibre-reinforced hose (not included
in standard delivery).
Minimum diameter, 3/4 inch.
Connect the hose to the water connec-
tion of the appliance.
Connect the hose to the water tap.
Caution
Never operate the high pressure cleaner
when the tap is closed because dry running
can damage the high pressure pump.
For Germany: If your household water sup-
ply is not equipped with a backflow prevent-
er (min. A2) please use the Kärcher
backflow preventer (special accessory, or-
der no. 6.412-578). A backflow preventer
must only ever be attached to the tap, never
to the appliance!

suck in water from vessel
When fitted with the appropriate accesso-
ries, this high-pressure cleaner can draw in
surface water, e.g. from water butts or ponds
(max. suction height 0.5 m).
Danger
Never draw in fluids containing solvents or
undiluted acids and solvents! This includes
petrol, paint thinner and heating oil. The
spray mist thus generated is highly inflam-
mable, explosive and poisonous. Do not use
acetone, undiluted acids and solvents as
they are aggressive towards the materials
from which the appliance is made.
The standard water connection is not
suitable for sucking in water; hence use
Kärcher suction hose (minimum diame-
ter approx. 1 inch) with filter (accessory).
Dearating the appliance
Unscrew the nozzle.
Switch on the appliance and let it run un-
til the water exiting from the spray pipe is
bubble-free.
Switch off the appliance and fit the noz-
zle again.
Operations
Danger
– The appliance may not be used in areas
where a risk of explosion is present.
– If the appliance is used in hazardous ar-
eas (e.g. filling stations) the correspond-
ing safety provisions must be observed.
– Do not use the appliance when there are
other persons around unless they are
also wearing safety gear.
– The jet must not be directed by the user
at him/herself or at other persons to
clean clothing or footwear.
– Do not drive over the main cable or the
high pressure hose.
