The illustration shows the rapid shift gearbox on the
drive wheel.
The illustration of the gearbox on the frame differs in
shape to the gearbox on the drive wheel but the instruc-
tions still apply.
Proceed as outlined below.
1) Unscrew the knob (A).
2) Remove the casing (B).
- With the gearbox on the frame, open the pinion ac-
cess casing.
3) Loosen the knob (C).
Planting procedure
The seedlings must be planted in soil which has been
finely tilled with a harrow or hoeing machine and lightly
compacted on the surface.
Do not load any seedlings into the dispenser that have
the root ball (or parts of it) missing as these will not be
planted properly.
We recommend you dampen the root ball well (but with-
out causing dripping) to help the dispenser plant the

INFORMATION FOR USE
A
NOTICE
The aim of the change of the transmission ratio is to
obtain the required plant spacing.
See the "Plant changeover" chapter to select the pair
of pinions to be used from the range of possible com-
binations.
C
4) Push lever (D) to slacken the chain.
5) Move the chain (E) on the pair of pinions correspond-
ing to the plant spacing necessary to plant the seed-
ling.
6) Pull the lever (D) and tighten the chain adequately.
7) Tighten the knob (C).
8) Fit the casing (B).
9) Tighten the knob (A).
- With the gearbox on the frame, close the pinion ac-
cess casing
seedling and ensure the plant is more likely to take root.
Do not work on extremely spongy spoil, or extremely
compact soil, nor on very wet ground, as these condi-
tions would all affect planting quality negatively.
During planting, the work vehicle's driving wheels must
grip the ground at all times, the support wheels must be
touching the ground and the tractor lift must be fully
lowered.
