3.5.5 HYDRAULIC LIFTING OF THE FURROW OPENER
BEARING FRAME
On request, the planting unit can be equipped with a hydraulic
lifting device (Fig. 66) for the furrow opener bearing frame (9 Fig.
3). This device is fi tted in place of the manual adjustment tie rod
(A Fig. 66) and connected through special hydraulic tubes to the
tractor distributor (double effect).
The hydraulic system supplied has a unidirectional fl ow regulator (A
Fig. 66-67) that when correctly adjusted allows the furrow opener
bearing frame to be raised parallel to the ground.
Free fl ow from A to B (Fig. 67);
Throttled fl ow from B to A (regulated) (Fig. 67).
Slacken the lock nut (1) and turn the knob (2) to adjust. When the
adjustment has been completed, re-tighten the lock nut.
ATTENTION
During the planting unit/equipment assembly operations, and
if a hydraulic lifting device is installed for the furrow opener
bearing frame, check that the transmission gears of the plan-
ting unit (Fig. 21) do not, and cannot, interfere with other parts
of the assembly during normal working operations.
3.5.6 REAR SPRING HARROW
REAR COVERING HARROW (STANDARD)
The working pressure of the spring teeth of the seed-covering
harrow may be varied by rotating the spring on the upper parallel
arm (1, Fig. 68).
When the arm pins on the four holes are shifted, the clearance
angle of the spring teeth varies (Fig. 68).
REAR COVERING HARROW (MULTI CONTROL)
The normal working position of the harrow is shown in Figure 69.
In this position, the wear on the teeth, between the long and the
short one is even and uniform. By adjusting the regulating handle
(A), it is possible to change the angle of the harrow.
The working pressure of the spring-loaded teeth can be varied
by rotating the spring (B) located on the upper parallel arm (Fig.
69).
