3.14 REGULATIONS
3.14.1 FURROW OPENER DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
For the shoots to come up well it is important to place the seed at
the right depth on the seeding bed. The handle varies the height
of the furrow opener blade, and so determines the depth of the
furrow on which to place the seed (1 Fig. 25).
The graduated indicator serves to adjust all the furrow openers
at the same depth. The pointer of the adjustment scale is purely
progressive; it does not show a variation in cm on the depth on
the seeding.
3.14.2 FURROW OPENER PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT
The sod-breaking by the furrow opener blade is made efficacious
by the load of the said spring. Different working situation need
different soil compression adjustment; varying the position of
the spring forwards or backwards, greater or lesser penetration
pressure is given (1 Fig. 27).
Vary the position of the spring at the base, on the three-holed
plate, when the adjustments are not satisfactory.
3.14.3 SEEDER EXCLUSION
Switch off the tractor and remove the key;
Lift the single seeder from the ground in the following way:
- Hook the spring the position 1 (Fig. 16),
- Lift the seeder until it hooks on,
- Hook the spring the position 2 (Fig. 16);
Disconnect the seeder drive shaft (Fig. 29) as follows:
- Push the coupling sleeve and keep it pressed(1 Fig. 29) in the
direction shown by the arrow, press forward and at the same
time rotate the ring nut (2 Fig. 29) until it is free of the iron pin;
- Pull the sleeve back at the end of its run (1 Fig. 98).
- To render the drive operative again, push the sleeve forward
and lock the ring nut again against the iron pin.
3.14.4 SEEDER TRANSMISSION CASE
Each case is equipped with a safety pin which breaks (1 Fig. 29)
when the rotating of the seeder plate is forced or jams as a result
of foreign bodies entering the distributor (paper, string etc.) Should
this occur, pour the seeds out of the container, check and clean
the distributor, check the plate pegs and replace the safety pin.
IMPORTANT! Do not use metal pins.
WARNING! Do not over-tighten the screws holding the case (2
Fig. 29). It should be able to oscillate.
