Fill in the installation protocol during the in-
stallation.
The explosion relief panel should be handled
with great care. Never poke at the pres-
sure-sensitive membrane and do not bend the
membrane or the frame.
Read the entire manual before the assembly
of the FlexFilter EX and pay close attention to
the recommendations. It is recommended that
a layout is made for the entire system before
installing the FlexFilter EX.

10.1 Delivery check

The FlexFilter EX should be checked for any damage
that may have occurred during transport. If there is
damage or parts missing, the carrier and your local Ne-
derman representative should be notified immedi-
ately.

10.2 Installation requirements

The location where the FlexFilter EX is to be placed
must be prepared before the installation. Choose
which side is to be used to access the Bulk-Bags (see
Figure
13) A - front, B - rear. Consider the risk area
(see
Chapter 9 Explosion
quired for a service platform or other means of chan-
ging the filters and maintenance.
The risk area may prohibit accessing the Flex-
Filter EX from the front.
The FlexFilter EX needs approximately 1000
mm of free space above the top to facilitate
the changing of main and control filters.
The FlexFilter EX shall be anchored to a hard, level and
firm foundation. A general example would be a rein-
forced concrete foundation at least 190 mm (7,5 in)
thick. However, installation on another structure is
also possible.
When calculating for foundation or supporting struc-
ture the following factors should be taken into consid-
eration.
• Total weight of the FlexFilter EX with accessories
(see
Chapter 5 Technical
• Traction forces generated by explosion relief vent-
ing (for models with relief venting only).
• Max weight of the collected material.
• Possible wind load.
• The maximum load on the service platform (access-
ory).
Each of the anchor bolts securing the FlexFilter EX,
must withstand traction forces of 9 kN vertically and
5 kN horizontally.

protection) and the space re-
data).
Recommended bolts for concrete are Hilti HDA-P-
M16X190 or equivalent. If expansion bolts are to be
used, the concrete foundation must be prepared ac-
cording to bolt recommendations.
The FlexFilter EX should not be installed close to heat
sources or hot surfaces.
If installed outdoors, it is recommended that the Flex-
Filter EX is covered on the top side to protect from
snow/rain or other falling debris.

11 Installation

11.1 Transport

It is recommended to transport the FlexFilter EX to
the installation site while still in the factory packing.
Pre fitting

11.2 Pre-fitting

Fit the top cover and bracket (see

11.3 Lifting

The FlexFilter EX can be lifted in several ways (see
Figure
11). Either under the frame by forklift or by us-
ing lifting straps secured at the upper four corners
of the frame. When lifting with straps, a lifting beam
must be used to avoid strain and/or damage to the fil-
ter modules. Use padding to avoid scratches.
Please note the centre of gravity mark on the
frame. Handling and lifting must be done safely
and in accordance with local regulations and le-
gislations.
Please note the lifting point markings on the
frame.

11.4 Stand

Figure 12
and
Figure 13
show how the legs are posi-
tioned on a FlexFilter EX.
Fit the four legs to the dust separator. Check to level
and fix firmly to the foundation.
For anchoring the FlexFilter EX to the foundation see
Chapter 11
Installation.
To ensure proper grounding one set of ser-
rated washers must be fitted on each leg. The
serrated washers must be fitted against both
the dust separator frame and the leg to ensure
proper grounding.

11.5 Stand cross beams

Fit the cross beams loosely according to
One cross beam consists of two pieces of square
beams of equal length connected with screws, nuts,
and washers.
