5 - USE OF THE CHAINSAW

5.4 Chain locking pin

The chain locking pin (34) protects the operator in case of chain breakage.
WARNING!
Check the chain locking pin and replace it, if it is damaged.

5.5 Not allowed uses

Do not use the chainsaw when being in unstable balance.
Do not cut materials which are different from wood.
Do not use the chainsaw as a lever or to lift, move or break any objects.
Do not use the chainsaw if the atmosphere is explosive or inflammable.

5.6 Working and sectioning rules

Before sectioning a trunk, check its position on the holding frame. This will allow to cut it in the right way, avoiding that the bar
locks in the middle of it.
1.
Start cutting more or less ¼ of the diameter of the upper part, then carry out the cut of the lower part. This way the cutting
performance will be perfect, and the bar will not remain locked in the trunk (picture S).
2.
Start cutting more or less ¼ of the diameter from the lower part, then carry out the cut of the upper part (picture T)
WARNING!
If the wood locks the chain while cutting, stop the tool, lift the trunk and change its position. Do not try to free the chain
by pulling the tool from the handle.

5.7 Tool transport

When carrying the tool, keep its bar backwards and inside its holster (picture M).
For long transports from one place to another keep the tool in its packaging with activated chain brake.
WARNING!
Always carry the tool with activated chain brake.
Use the tool for the aims described in ch. "Product description" only. Any other kind of use may cause injuries.

5.8 Connecting the chainsaw with an extension pole

By performing the following operations, the chainsaw can be connected to the extension pole:
Unscrew first the ring nut (27), then the handle (17).
Remove the support handle (7) by unscrewing the two screws (6).
Remove the hand guard (8) by unscrewing the two screws (9).
Screw the extension pole onto the connection (25) on the motor (24) by using the supplied key.
5.9 Storing the tool
When the tool has not to be used for a prolonged period:
Check that the air fittings are free from dirt.
Follow all the maintenance indications in the manual.
Empty the oil reservoir and close the cap.
Remove the cutting residues (sawdust) from the front cover and perfectly clean the chainsaw.
Put the chain bar into its holster.
