WARNING
Danger from voltage/current!
Only perform assembly and disassembly work when the device is de-energized.
Only install products with IP20 degree of protection according to IEC 60529 in enclosures, cabinets or electrical operating
rooms suitable for the end application.
WARNING
Safety functional extra low voltage
The product must be operated with safety functional extra low voltage (SELV, PELV). You can find more information on
safety functional extra low voltage in the documentation (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/84133942)
of the fail-safe I/O and in the data sheets of the power supplies to be used.
Use a power supply unit with output voltage that does not exceed 36 V DC even in the event of a fault.
Observe the maximum permissible switching conditions specified in the equipment manual for F-RQ modules.
Follow the notes and warnings in the respective manual.
CAUTION
BusAdapter contains a laser system and is classified as a "CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT" in accordance with IEC 60825-1.
Can cause personal injury.
Avoid eye contact with the laser beam. Do not open the housing. Read the information in the documentation
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/84133942).
Electromagnetic Compatibility
The I/O system is intended for operation in the EMC environment class Industry.
Ensure an EMC-compliant design of your automation system as described in the documentation
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/84133942) for the I/O system.
NOTICE
Interference emission / Interference immunity
The operation of the I/O system can cause radio interference in residential areas.
If higher EMI is expected at the place of use than is intended for the industrial area according to EN61000-6-2, additional
measures are required (e.g. ESD, overvoltage protection).
ATEX-/UKEX device intended for use in hazardous area
If the product is intended for use in a potentially explosive atmosphere (gas/air or gas/dust mixture), observe the special
information in the documentation (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/84133942). The intended use (e.g.
ATEX zone, degree of protection, temperature class) is indicated on the product (in the declaration of conformity and usually
also on the nameplate).
Note
As a rule, country-specific requirements for the operator also apply when a product is used in a potentially explosive
atmosphere (e.g. Directive 1999/92/EC for the EU).
Cleaning
If you need to clean the product, use dry ESD cleaning cloths (observing the protective measures for ESD).
Requirement: All available supply voltages on the distributed I/O system and I/O modules are switched off. Observe the five
safety rules for working in and on electrical installations.
Maintenance and repair
The product is maintenance-free. Repairs to the product may only be carried out by the manufacturer.
