7 Maintenance, Cleaning and Repair

7.1 Maintenance and cleaning

The components and systems of Festo Didactic are largely maintenance-free. The following components
should be cleaned at regular intervals with a soft, lint-free cloth or brush:
•
The lenses on the optical sensors, the fibre optics and the reflectors
•
The active surface of the proximity switch
•
The entire component or system

7.2 Repair

The components may be destroyed due to incorrect handling or connection. For this reason the structure of
the components is such that they can be repaired simply.

Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
NOTICE
The transparent bottom part can be easily separated
from the top part. To do this the latch can be levered
open via a small screwdriver at each corner.
The defective component on the circuit board is then
replaced with a new one and the top and bottom part
engaged again.
