Operation
4.1
Initial operation
Before using the machine for the first time, it is
imperative to observe the following notes:
Personnel entrusted to work with the machine
must have read the operating instructions. Main
importance has to be attached to the chapter
„Safety instructions".
Make sure that the safety equipment is attached
and functions.
Make sure that the cutter is fixed correctly.
4.2
Switching on and off
• Switching on: Push switch button 60 forward
until it catches.
• Switching off: Press switch button 60 slightly
down at it's rear end until it is released and let it
go.
4.3
Slip guard
The two slip guards 100 prevent the machine from
slipping away to the side when milling flat dowel
grooves.
In order to mill longitudinal grooves for which the
machine is guided laterally, the slip guards 100 must
be moved inside by turning.

Service and maintenance
Pull out the mains plug before start-
ing on any maintenance work!
MAFELL machines are designed to be
low in maintenance. The ball bearings
used are greased for life. After a pro-
longed period of operation, users are
recommended to have the machine
checked by an authorized MAFELL cus-
tomer service shop.
5.1
Machine
The machine must be cleaned of dust deposits at
regular intervals. When doing so, clean the air vents
on the motor using a vacuum cleaner.
Only use our special grease, order number 049040
(1 kg tin), for all lubrication spots.
5.2
Cutter
The cutters used on the machine must be freed from
resin regularly as clean tools improve the cutting
quality.
For cleaning only acidfree but not highly alkaline
cleaning agents may be used.
This can be done by soaking the cutters for 24 hours
in paraffin or commercially available resin remover.
