5. Tighten the rear axle nut to:
108 N·m (11.0 kgf·m, 80 lbf·ft)
If a torque wrench is not used for this
installation, see your Honda dealer as soon
as possible to verify proper assembly.
6. Recheck drive chain slack.
7. Rear brake pedal free play is affected when
repositioning the rear wheel to adjust
drive chain slack. Check rear brake pedal
free play and adjust as necessary (page
14).

Lubrication and Cleaning:
Lubricate every 500 km (300 miles) or sooner
if chain appears dry.
The O-rings in this chain can be damaged by
steam cleaning, high pressure washers, and
certain solvents. Clean the side surfaces of
the chain with a dry cloth. Do not brush the
rubber O-rings. Brushing will damage them.
Wipe dry and lubricate only with SAE 80 or
90 gear oil. Commercial chain lubricants may
contain solvents which could damage the
rubber O-rings.
