10. CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE

To guarantee product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and adjustments must be performed by the
nearest SCHULZ AUTHORIZED DEALER, which uses genuine parts.

11. ENVIRONMENTAL ORIENTATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Liquid Waste Disposal
The presence of liquid waste untreated in rivers, lakes or other receiving bodies of water can adversely affect
the water life and water quality.
The same must be placed in a container and/or in an adequate disposal system for later treatment.
Schulz Compressores LTDA. recommends treating properly the waste generator through processes that aim to
guarantee environmental protection and healthy life quality of the population, in conformity with the regulative
requirements of the existing legislation.
Among the treatment methods, physicochemical, chemical and biologic ones can be used.
Treatment can be performed by the establishment itself or through a third-party service.
2. Draining of Crankcase Lubricant Oil
Disposal of the lubricant oil coming from changing the lubricant oil located in the generator crankcase must
meet technical requirements, as well as the regulation requirements of the current legislation of the country the
product has been exported to.
3. Disposal of Solid Waste (parts in general and product packaging)
Generation of solid waste is an aspect that the user must take into consideration, in the use and maintenance of
his equipment. Environmental impacts can cause significant changes in soil quality, in the quality of superficial
and underground water and in the population's health, through the improper disposal of discarded waste (on
streets, receiving bodies of water, landfills or vacant properties, etc.).
Schulz Compressores LTDA. recommends management of the waste created by the product from its generation,
handling, transport, treatment until its final disposal.
Proper management must consider the following steps: quantification, qualification, classification, source reduc-
tion, selective collection, recycling, storage, transport, treatment and final destination.
Solid waste disposal must be done according to the regulative requirements of the existing legislation.
3. Battery
Schulz batteries are rechargeable and may be reused several times. At the end of its useful life, it
must be disposed properly according to the directions below:
- Fully discharge the battery;
- Send the battery to a collection station specifi c for this kind of waste. If this service is not
available in your
city, send the battery to a Schulz dealer, or call Customer Service in order to obtain further infor-
mation on how to properly dispose the batteries.
Batteries (rechargeable or not) contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment. When a battery is not
properly disposed, those chemicals may leak and contaminate the soil, water or air.
