Mounting the Bar and Chain
Disengaging the Chain Brake
Pull the hand guard towards the
N
front handle until there is an audible
click – the chain brake is
disengaged.
Removing the Chain Sprocket Cover

Rotate the captive nut (1)
N
counterclockwise until it hangs
loosely in the sprocket cover.
Remove the sprocket cover (2) with
N
captive nut.

Mounting the Guide Bar

Turn the screw (1)
N
counterclockwise until the tensioner
slide (2) butts against the left end of
the housing slot.

Fit the guide bar over the stud (3)
N
and engage the peg of the tensioner
slide in the hole (4).
Fitting the Chain
WARNING
Wear work gloves to protect your hands
from the sharp cutters.

Fit chain around the sprocket (1)
N
and over the guide bar – the cutting
edges on top of the bar must point to
the bar nose.

Turn the screw (2) clockwise until
N
there is very little chain sag on the
underside of the bar – and the drive
link tangs are engaged in the bar
groove.
