6. Faults
CAUTION!
Physical injuries and damage to property and the environment
EN
If faults cannot be eliminated by means of the measures listed, the instrument
must be taken out of operation immediately.
For contact details, please see chapter 1 "General information" or the back
page of the operating instructions.
Faults
No signal/cable break
Erroneous measured

times too long
Erroneous measured

Ensure that pressure or signal is no longer present and protect against
accidental commissioning.
Contact the manufacturer.
If a return is needed, please follow the instructions given in chapter 8.2
"Return".
Causes
Mechanical load too high or
overtemperature
Sensor drift caused by
overtemperature
Entry of moisture into cable or
measuring insert
Wrong mounting geometry, e.g.
contact pressure too small or
heat dissipation too high
Deposits on the sensor
Parasitic voltages (thermal
voltages, galvanic voltage) or
wrong equalisation line
Cable break in connection cable
or loose contact caused by
mechanical overload
Stray currents caused by electric
fields or earth loops
Earth loops
Measures
Replace probe with one of a
suitable design
Replace probe with one of a
suitable design
Replace probe with one of a
suitable design
Loosen compression fitting at the
neck tube, press the probe harder
on the surface, hold the probe
in this position and tighten the
compression fitting
Remove deposits
Use suitable compensating cable
Replace probe or measuring insert
with a suitable design, for example
equipped with a strain relief or a
thicker conductor cross-section
Use shielded connection cables,
and increase the distance to
motors and power cables
Eliminate potential differences by
using galvanically isolated repeater
power supplies or transmitters
