4. BEFORE USING
FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Before using your appliance for the first
time, clean the grill plate with warm
soapy water and a soft sponge. Do not
use abrasive detergents or metal
scourers.
• After cleaning, dry the grill plate
thoroughly. Make sure you dry the
inside of the grill plug box located
underneath one of the grill tray
handles thoroughly.
• After drying, coat the grill plate with a
little salad oil, butter or margarine.
Assembling the barbecue
• To assemble the barbecue, first place
the support (fig. 2) on a horizontal,
stable and heat-resistant surface, then
place the drip tray (fig. 3) on top of the
support and the grill plate (fig. 4) on
top of the tray.
• Important: The grill plate should be
assembled as shown in figure 4, in
order to enable the connection
assembly to be inserted into the plug
box. If the plate is assembled the wrong
way round, the connection assembly
cannot be inserted.
• Turn the thermostat with pilot light to
the '0' position and insert the mains
connection assembly into the
appliance's plug box (fig. 5).
5. USING YOUR APPLIANCE
1. Assemble the barbecue as described in
the previous section.
2. Plug the appliance into the mains and
select the required cooking
temperature by aligning the thermostat
with the pilot light in the connection
assembly. The pilot light will come on.
When the pilot light switches off, this
indicates that the grill tray has reached
the selected temperature.

3. After use, turn the thermostat back to
'0', unplug the appliance and leave to
cool before handling.
• In order to prolong the life of the non-
stick coating on the grill tray:
- Only use wooden or heat-resistant
plastic utensils.
- Do not cut food on the tray or use sharp
objects for handling food items.
- Do not leave plastic objects that may
melt on the tray whilst switched on.
• Do not touch the support while the grill
tray is hot, because the support material
is not designed to resist the temperatures
reached by the grill tray.
• Make sure food items are cut uniformly in
order to ensure optimum results.
7. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, unplug the appliance
from the mains and leave to cool. Unplug
the connection assembly from the plug
box before cleaning the grill tray.
Grill plate
Clean the grill plate with warm soapy
water and a soft sponge. After cleaning,
dry the grill plate, paying special attention
to the plug box, which should be dried
thoroughly.
Do not use metal scourers or abrasive
detergents that may damage the non-stick
surface. The plate can also be washed in
the dishwasher. After each wash, coat the
grill plate with salad oil, margarine or
butter.
