Warning
Please consult this manual in all cases

Caution

removing or replacing the SHM.

for maintenance purposes, care must
be taken not to use excessive force

when loosening or tightening the bolt
holding it in position. Due to the
angle at which the ring spanner (10
mm) is used, it may catch and damage
part of the SHM.
Caution
Do not move the SHM under any
circumstances when the power supply
is connected to the instrument. This
will damage the motor connected to
the SHM.
Caution
Do not disconnect power to Infratec
Sofia while the instrument software is
being updated.
Caution
Some force is required to remove the
lamp module from the instrument due
to dust and water protection
requirements. Take care not to over-
stretch the cable connecting the lamp
to the instrument.
Caution
The responsible body shall be made
aware that, if the equipment is used in
a manner not specified by the
manufacturer, the protection
provided by the equipment may be
impaired.
Caution
If an ESD cap is provided, it should be
mounted on any port not being used.
Caution
Do not touch the lamp glass or
reflector or let any rough surface
come into contact with the lamp glass.
A microscopic scratch in the glass
might cause a lamp explosion later.
Caution
Infratec Sofia is to be connected to
either 12 V DC (and NOT 24 V DC) via
Foss P/N 60024388, or to 100-240 V AC
via a power adaptor Foss P/N
60024086 (otherwise the CE-labelling
of the instrument can not be
provided). Power adaptor may only be
connected to power outlet with
protective earthing.
Hot Surface
The lamp module becomes very warm
due to the high operating
temperature. The lamp can also be
damaged by fingerprints and oily
residues. Cotton gloves must be used
when replacing the lamp to avoid any
damages or burn injuries.
