12. OPERATION
The electric wheelchair is simple to use. However, it is recommended to read the following
instructions carefully, to familiarise yourself with your new vehicle.
WARNING
Before switching on the power supply, always be aware of your surroundings when selecting
the desired speed. It is recommended to select the slowest speed for use indoors. It is
recommended to select a speed that allows you to control the wheelchair safely for use
outdoors.
The following steps are necessary to ensure that the wheelchair operates safely.
A. CONTROLLER A JOYSTICK
The controller has a multi-purpose visual display. It can provide four types of information:

The joystick controls the direction and speed of the wheelchair. Operate the wheelchair by
pressing gently on the joystick in the direction you intend to take. Returning the joystick to
the neutral position (central) reduces the speed and stops the wheelchair by automatically
applying the electromechanical brakes.
1. ON / OFF status
When the wheelchair is switched on, the controller LED is lit up. When the LED is not lit up,
the controller is switched off.
Notes:
• Press the ON / OFF button, then wait two seconds before using the joystick. This is a safety
feature that prevents a sudden start-up.
• Gentle use of the joystick results in smoother movements in speed and direction, whereas
brusque use of the joystick results in sudden movements in speed and direction.
• In an emergency, release the joystick. The wheelchair will stop immediately.
