10. If the wheelchair stops and does not function, identify the circuit breakers in the battery
containers underneath the seat to reset the circuit. Use the ON/OFF button to switch off
the wheelchair, press the reset button and try the electric wheelchair again.
11. When you have finished travelling or before putting the wheelchair away, always switch off
the controller by pressing the ON/OFF button.
C. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SAFE USE
• Before changing direction from forwards to backwards or backwards to forwards,
bring the control lever into the central position and wait for the wheelchair to come
to a complete stop.
• Only use the wheelchair where it would also be safe to walk.
• If you need to go up or down a slope, check that the gradient does not exceed 6°/10%
and that the surface has a good grip and is not slippery.
Use a slow speed to reverse, go up a slope, down a slope, turn a corner or on uneven surfaces.
NEVER use the leg rests to lift the wheelchair. The leg rests are removable and therefore
must not be used for lifting.
D. OTHER INFORMATION FOR USE
DRIVING UP A SLOPE
International standards set the maximum safe gradient on which an electric wheelchair can
be driven without any difficulty. This value is set as 6°/10%. The Moretti folding electric
wheelchair can travel on slopes with a gradient up to 10°/17.5%. If you need to use it on the
maximum gradient, you may need to travel at a higher speed. Press the speed button to
increase the speed. Be extremely careful when travelling on steep slopes.
DRIVING DOWN A SLOPE
Proceed slowly down steep descents. Press the speed button to reduce the speed.
This allows better control of driving. However, your wheelchair will not accelerate on its own
down a slope, due to the automatic braking system, which starts functioning if you attempt
to drive too fast. In general, you should drive in a linear manner on slopes, without sudden
changes in direction, and never stop the wheelchair on a slope that exceeds the safety limit.
GOING OVER OBSTACLES
Go over obstacles slowly and in a forwards direction. Do not attempt to go over obstacles
from the side. This will allow you to go over obstacles up to 5 cm. Do not go over obstacles
higher than 5 cm. Your wheelchair has a roll-over protection system. These devices may
interfere when you are ascending onto or descending from a sidewalk. Take maximum care
when going over these obstacles.
