This instruction manual describes the use and maintenance of the Cabloc Vertical Cable Safety System and Cabloc Detachable
Cable Sleeve. It should be used as part of an employee training program as required by CE and must be kept with the
equipment.
Installers must read and follow the manufacturer's instructions for safety equipment used with this system.
Follow these instructions for proper use, inspection, and maintenance of this equipment before installing this equipment.
If this product is resold outside the original country of destination, the reseller must provide these instructions in the
language of the country in which the product will be used.
Before using this equipment, fi nd the product identifi cation information on the installation and service label and record it in
the Inspection & Maintenance Log in this manual.
Sleeve and system must be inspected after a fall. If the energy absorber/fall indicator on the sleeve is deployed (Figure 15,
example 2), the sleeve must be removed from service. If there are any nicks or kinks in the ladder cable, the cable must be
inspected by a competent person prior to use.

1.0 APPLICATIONS
1.1
PURPOSE: Cabloc Vertical Cable Safety Systems (Figure 1) are designed to protect a worker in the event of a fall while
climbing fi xed ladders or similar climbing structures. The Cabloc Detachable Cable Sleeve (Figures 1 and 2) attaches to
a Cabloc Vertical Cable Safety System. The sleeve is designed to arrest the fall of a worker in the event of a fall while
climbing a fi xed ladder. The Cabloc Detachable Cable Sleeve is not intended to be used for material handling. Use only
for intended purpose.

LIMITATIONS: The Cabloc Detachable Cable Sleeve must be used with a 3M Fall Protection approved ladder safety
system. Use only a 8 mm (5/16 inch) diameter solid core cable with the Detachable Cable Sleeve. The ladder safety
system must have a maximum angle of 15° from vertical. The ladder safety system may be confi gured with or without
a top, in-line energy absorber. Both confi gurations have been tested and approved for use with the Cabloc Detachable
Cable Sleeve.
