Cover onto the Drive Shaft, oriented by the locating
pins. Make sure the 3rd Hole in the face lines up with
the 3rd Hole in the Liner.
12. Viewed from the front of the Impulse Mechanism, with
the Relief Valve's 3 internal holes oriented above the
Check Valve's single internal hole below; the Liner
Case (91) is correctly oriented when the Oil Plug
recess is to the left of center.

Rubber plate and Screw (87) in each hole in the side of
the Liner Case.
15. Install both Adjustment Screws (90) into the Liner
Case, inserting them from the internal side. The Screws
are adjusted from the external end of the Liner Case,
with the Wrench extending through the Liner Case.
16. Install the O-Ring (86) into the internal groove of the
Liner Case. Apply a light coat of grease to the
O-Rings.
17. Place the Liner Case over the assembled Liner. Make
sure the notch in the face of the Liner Case aligns with
the Oil Plug hole. Using the Pressing Sleeve from the
Tool Kit, carefully press the Liner Case into position.
Do not damage O-Rings during installation.
18. Grasp the flats on the Liner Housing in a vise. Using
the Spanner Plug furnished with the Tool Kit, install
the Liner Cap (56). This is a left-handed thread.
19. Tighten the Housing Cap to 8-10 Nm for 40PSQ1,
45PS3, 45PSQ1, 55PS3 and 55PSQ1 Series; and 12-14
Nm for the 70PS3.
20. Make sure the Drive Shaft rotates freely, then fill the
Impulse Mechanism with fluid, as instructed in the
section, Changing the Mechanism Fluid.
❑ The "Assembly" process is now complete for
Models 40PSQ1, 45PS3, 45PSQ1, 55PS3 and

Blade on the Springs making certain the Springs enter
the holes in that Blade.
27. Using finger pressure, compress the Springs with the
Blades until the outer edges of the Blades are flush
with the drive shaft surface. Capture the Blades in this
position by installing the Liner Assembly, piston stop
end trailing, over the Drive Shaft and against the Rear
Liner Cover.
28. Install the Front Cover Assembly over the Drive Shaft
and against the Liner. Viewed from the front of the
Impulse Mechanism, with the Relief Valve's 3 internal
holes oriented above the Check Valve's single internal
hole below; the Front Case is correctly oriented when
