1/4"
(6 mm)
Shim
8. Install the Door
IMPORTANT! Perform the following steps with two installers.
NOTE: The following steps are done from inside the shower. Place your drill, screwdriver, 9/64" drill bit,
screw bit, and #8 x 5/8" screws in the shower before beginning.
Place a 1/4" (6 mm) shim on the threshold as shown to maintain correct spacing. The shim should
be located on the handle side of the door. It may help to hold the shim in place with tape.
NOTE: Keep the shim in place. Do not remove the shim until the door is secured in place.
Lift the door and insert the tab on the bottom of the door into the groove on the bottom track.
Slide the door all the way into the expander jamb.
Have your partner in position outside of the shower to steady the door until it is secured. From the
inside of the shower module, lift and close the door using the door handle while being careful not
to displace the shim.
Adjust the door and the side panel (or strike jamb) so the magnets on the side of the door and side
of the panel/strike jamb line up and the spacing around the door is constant.
IMPORTANT! Do not overexpand. Slide both the side panel/strike jamb and the door an equal distance
from the expander jambs. The expansion on both sides should be approximately the same. Refer to the
roughing-in sheet for sizes.
While your partner makes sure the door remains stationary, drill a 9/64" hole in the second hole
from the top of the expander jamb. Insert and tighten a #8 x 5/8" screw to temporarily hold the
door in place.
NOTE: Make sure that each hole is drilled through the door frame. If a hole misses or only partially
contacts the door frame, the door will not be properly held in place.
