General information about the
awning cloth
Awning cloth is a high performance
product. Nevertheless, even with the
current state of technology and the
requirements of environmental protec-
tion, they are still not perfect. Certain
aspects of the cloth, which may be dis-
pleasing, are still possible despite
sophisticated production and process-
ing technology.
This is normal to differing degrees with
nearly all awning fabrics. But they do
not diminish the quality of the towels in
any way.
In order to prevent irritation, we would
like to specifically point out the follow-
ing characteristics as part of consumer
education: *
Creases occur during the manu-
facture and when the awning
cloths are folded. This can lead to
surface effects (pigment displace-
ments), especially with bright col-
ours in bends, which then look
darker (like dirt streaks) when
against backlight. They do not
diminish the value and usability of
the awning.
Chalk effects are bright stripes,
which arise during processing on
finished goods and can not always
be prevented even with the great-
est care. Therefore, they are also
not a reason for complaint.
Rain resistance: Acrylic and poly-
ester sunscreen awnings are
water-repellent impregnated and at
a minimum slope of 14° withstand
light and short periods of rain. Awn-
ings must be retracted to prevent
damage in the event of heavy or
prolonged rain. Wet rolled awnings
should be re-extended as soon as
possible to dry.
Ripples in the hem, seam and web
areas are caused by multiple lay-
ers of the fabric and different wind-
ing thicknesses on the fabric roller.
The resulting tension in the fabric
can cause ripples (e.g. waffle or
herringbone pattern).
The sewing thread of the cloth
does not have to be the same col-
our as the cloth part in which the
seam is located.
