During installing the appliance or maintaining it, please don't lift it using the power cord.

Preliminary checks

SQUARE SKIM
Dear customer, thank you for purchasing a skimmer from the AMTRA SQUARE SKIM line. This product is a filter intended for saltwater aquariums and works only with
salt water (indicative salinity 35%).
ASSEMBLY: remove the skimmer and all its components from the transport packaging, taking care not to miss anything. Remove the cover FIG. 1 N ° 2 from the body
of the skimmer. Unscrew the 4 screws that fix the skimmer body FIG. 1 N ° 5 at the base of the skimmer FIG. 1 N ° 6. Install the pump FIG. 1 No. 7 in the specific office.
Place the electric cable exiting the skimmer in the special slot using the gasket on the cable itself. The electric cable must not be in any way obstructing the closing
of the skimmer or for any reason be crushed or pinched in this phase. In the event of obvious or presumed damage to the electric cable, immediately interrupt the
installation procedure and contact your dealer. Once the pump and electric cable are firmly in place, proceed to refit the skimmer body on its base with the 4 screws.
Pay attention to the fitting direction by following the marks present in the pieces, especially at the point where the water is set and the output is FIG. 1 Nos. 12 and
13. Each piece must fit together perfectly and nothing must be forced. If the whole does not fit perfectly in its position, it means that something is not placed in the
correct direction, therefore check everything, paying particular attention to the housing of the outlet water regulation FIG. 1 N ° 13. Once the 4 screws have been

POSITIONING: this appliance must be housed inside a sump tank specially designed with a skimmer chamber (Example AMTRA SUMP see FIG.2) in a position where it
is easy to reach, extract the cup or adjust it. The particular square shape of the base allows to optimize performance and dimensions, guaranteeing up to 30% more
performance than a cylindrical skimmer of the same size. The skimmer must work with a water level in sump equal to about 20-25cm (FIG.2). The sump water level
must be kept stable as the water inlet / air inlet regulations vary depending on this level, thus making the skimmer itself inefficient. Always make sure that the water
inlet (FIG.1 N ° 11) is far from the tank walls and free from obstructions that can obstruct the suction.
START-UP: once positioned in the sump proceed as follows: Remove the cup. Fully open the water outlet adjustment by turning the knob (FIG.1 N ° 13)
clockwise to fully open the air intake adjustment (FIG.1 N ° 15 ) The air adjustment screw opens by turning it counterclockwise Connect the pump to the electric
electric socket Allow the skimmer to work without the cup and wait for a layer of foam to form about 1-2cm in the upper part of the body. Attention: a high
exit of air bubbles from the drain (FIG.1 N ° 12) is absolutely normal and may even take a few days before the skimmer starts working in a stable manner.
In models with DC pump it is possible in this phase to also adjust the hourly flow rate of the pump, increasing or decreasing it according
to the needs using the special controllers (FIG.3). In general, the hourly flow of the pumps must be increased in accordance with the
increase in the tank liters and the increase in pollution in the tank or the need for extremely clean water (eg aquariums with SPS corals).
