1. General information
Indirectly heated storage water heater cylinder with welded plain-tube heat exchangers for fresh
water heating. Complete with thermal insulation, inspection port at the side (TS only) and
Mg anode. Can be combined with any modern heating system. Premium enamelling as per
DIN 4753/3. Robust and easy-to-install design, equipped with thermometer (TS only) and
temperature sensor port. Base height adjustment as standard equipment for both types.
The upper level system connections make the U/HP particularly well-suited for installation below
wall-mounted heating devices. In contrast to this, the TS storage tank is designed for horizontal
installation with a boiler mounted on top thus minimising the space requirement of the heating
system. The steel sheet cladding on the TS is designed for a maximum boiler weight of 300 kg.

3. Installing and operating the cylinder
Read this guide carefully before installing. In the event of queries, please contact our customer
service department (see Contacts).
Installation, commissioning and maintenance in line with current regulations (including EN 1717,
DIN 1988, EN 12828, VDI 2035, any applicable regulations issued by local utilities, national
regulations) by an expert installer in a frost-free room and on substrate with suffi cient load bearing
capacity to support the full storage tank!
A drain option is provided at the cold water inlet side of the TS. We recommend installing a
diaphragm pressure-expansion vessel (observe the separate installation instructions) in the cold
water supply line. The TW safety valve must be installed at an easily accessible position to allow
for regular inspection; it must be fi tted with a drain connection (see the cold water connection
schematic). A plate bearing the following legend must be affi xed close to the safety valve blow-off
pipe or on the safety valve itself as appropriate:
WARNING:
For safety reasons, water may escape through the blow-off line during heating!
Do not shut off or obstruct the blow-off pipe.

Before commissioning, check the earthing of the Mg anode on the TS and fl ush the complete water
heating system. If impressed current anodes are used, observe the operating instructions included.
Unused connections must be professionally sealed.
Check the leak tightness of the entire system under operation conditions and during maintenance;
re-tighten the fl ange connection if needed. Check the safety valve at regular intervals.
The storage tank must be included in equipotential bonding.
Temperature control/display:
U/HP: The temperature sensor for controlling the heat source is clamped under the poly cover in
the vertical immersion sleeve using the clamping spring provided. The immersion depth defi nes the
switching point of post-heating. For storage tanks with an operating temperature of above 55 °C,
the sensor should be positioned above the pipe coil.

tank in the horizontal immersion sleeve using the clamping spring provided. The remote sensor on
the thermometer is mounted on the observation port.
10 bar
Attach the clamping springs to the sensors to prevent false measurements. The immersion sleeves
TS
are suitable for housing up to three sensors.
95 °C
If needed, install scald protection at the hot water outlet.
110 °C
Finally, affi x the type plate provided.
4. Further information
No liability is accepted for damage caused by failure to observe the installation and operating
instructions.
The required maintenance measures must be established by specialists or by the user on the basis
of local operating conditions and fi gures based on experience. The system must be subjected to
annual inspections and documentation under the terms of an agreement.
Wear safety gloves for internal cleaning (for the TS); after cleaning, the fl ange seal must be
replaced. The storage tank must be easily accessible for maintenance operations, repairs, and/or
replacement. The construction measures required for this are not the responsibility of the
manufacturer or the responsible distributor. Furthermore, facilities for the secure drainage of the
cylinder in the event of any water leakage must be provided to avoid water damage.
Hot water can escape through the safety valve and on draining: danger of scalding. The system
operator must prevent untrained persons from being put at risk.
Check the Mg anode initially after 2 years and then annually; replace as needed.
In hard-water areas, a standard descaling unit can be fi tted upstream as natural limescale
formation is not the storage tank manufacturer's responsibility.
In principle, a minimum conductivity of 100 µS/cm must be adhered to, while the other properties
of water guaranteed in the relevant legislation on mains water must be maintained. Please consult
the manufacturer in borderline cases.
Sediment traps are recommended on the drinking and hot water sides. They must be serviced
regularly in line with the system conditions.
Avoid electro-chemical corrosion infl uences such as mixed installations, etc. SClB.
