How the device works

It must be possible to influence operation of the machinery or
system electrically. It must be possible to interrupt operation
of the machinery or system at any time. The LGT must be
configured such that it is impossible to reach over, reach
under, or stand behind the protective field (Fig. 3, Appendix).
The LGT sender unit and receiver unit consist of adjacently
arranged individual elements, this results in the formation of a
light grid with parallel beams.
If only one light beam is interrupted, a switching command is
triggered to stop the machine.

Indicators and Controls

Sender units and receiver units are equipped with LEDs. The
control unit has LEDs and two seven segment modules as
indicators.
DIL switches facilitate the configuration of the light grid.
