About safety
The device can only fulfil its safety-relevant task if it is
correctly used, that is "safely" - i.e. fail-safe - fitted and
connected.
The LGT testable safety light grid complies with the safety-
specific requirements of
Safety category type 2 in accordance with pr EN 50 100
2 . 1

Applications for the device

LGT testable safety light grids are non-contact protection
devices with a resolution of 30 mm. They are used as hand
protection to secure danger zones on machines and plant.
The devices are permanently fitted in the access area and
shut down the hazard producing motion if a minimum of one
light beam is interrupted.
2.2 Improper use of the device
The LGT testable safety light grid is only permitted to be used
in the context of 2.1 Applications for the device. In case of
any other usage, and in case of modifications to the device –
even during fitting and installation – any claims against
SICK AG under the guarantee are rendered void.
