4.1.1
Adjusting the protective visor to correct size
Illustration on the fold-out page (figure B)
Adjust the support ring with the aid of the adjusting wheel (head circumference)
and the quick adjustment system (head height).
Adjust the support ring in such a way that the protective visor fits comfortably
and safely and optimum visibility is ensured. Refer to figure A for correct fit of
the protective visor.
4.1.2
Adjusting the swivel mechanism
Use the adjusting screw to set the manoeuvrability of the swivel mechanism.
4.1.3
Donning the protective visor
WARNING
Danger due to oxygen deficiency and CO
► Wait to close the visor until it is connected with the respiratory protective
device and breathable air is available.
1. Remove transport foil from visor.
2. Hold protective visor at the sides with both hands and put it on. The support
ring rests on the centre of the forehead and surrounds the head.
3. If necessary, fold down the visor with the aid of the loops.
4. Check the fit of the protective visor and ensure the following:
The face cuff runs under the chin, over the ears and along the back of
the head.
The support ring lies completely within the sealing area.
The protective visor fits tightly, securely and comfortably.
5. If necessary, use the quick adjustment system or the adjusting wheel to
increase the wearing comfort.

After use

Perform the following activities after use:

WARNING
Danger due to oxygen deficiency and CO
► Do not switch off the respiratory protective device while the visor is still
closed.
1. Opening the visor: Take hold of the loops to fold up the visor.
2. Doffing the protective visor: Hold protective visor at the sides with both
hands and take it off.
3. If necessary, clean and disinfect the protective visor (see "Cleaning and
disinfecting", page 13).

Cleaning and disinfecting

CAUTION
Potential damage to component parts!
► For cleaning and disinfecting only apply the described procedures and use
the specified cleaning agents and disinfectants. Other agents and
procedures, dosages and exposure times can damage component parts.
CAUTION
Health hazard!
► The undiluted agents are damaging to health if they come into direct contact
with the eyes or skin. Wear goggles and protective gloves when working
with these agents.

1. Prepare a cleaning solution containing water and a cleaning agent.
