Assembly
Danger due to unsuitable work station
Choose a work station with adequate
¾
visibility.
To prevent the device from tilting dur-
¾
ing operation, place it on a sufficient-
ly even workbench.
Information
Ideally, the vice should be about 90 to
95 cm above the floor.
To screw the device firmly onto the workbench, use
the fastening borehole on the machine frame [1].
or
To firmly clamp the device with a C-clamp, use the
supporting surface on the centre of the machine
frame [1].
Electrical connection
Attention !
Only operate the device on a secured mains
¾
network.
Compare the mains voltage present with the
¾
specifications on the type plate.
PBS 105 information
The switch block on which the main mo-
tor switch [10] is located is fitted with a
reset function. This prevents the automatic
restart of the device after power failure.
PBS 120 / PBS 160 information
The electronic speed controller [23] is
equipped with a reset function. This pre-
vents the automatic restart of the device
after power failure.
CAUTION !
Settings
Danger posed by unintended
activation
If you make settings, switch the
¾
device off at the main motor switch
[10] (position <0>).
Saw band tension
Danger posed by saw band clamped
too tightly
The saw band may slip out of the
Â
guides.
To clamp the saw band [5], turn the hand wheel
[6] in a clockwise direction.
To reduce the tensioning force in the saw band
[5], turn the hand wheel [6] in an anti-clockwise
direction.
Information
The band saws PBS 120 and PBS 160
are equipped with an overclamping pro-
tection system (coupling). Turn the hand
wheel until the coupling releases.
Stop
To saw off several workpieces of identical length,
use the adjustable stop [12]:
Screw the guide rod [15] into the hole in the
machine frame [1].
Secure the guide rod with the lock nut [16].
Clamp the workpiece with the section length to be
sawn off in the vice [4].
Loosen the clamping screw [14] slightly.
Move the stop [12] to the workpiece to be sawn off.
Tighten the clamping screw.
The stop is set and fixed.
