Note : The M36x1.5 threaded connection of the KD model does not allow the alignment to be modified.
Check the alignment with an appropriate tool (laser, plumb-line, ...)
5 – Adjustments
(Fig.3)
This knee allows 4 possible adjustments.
To ensure the patient's safety, the prosthetist should perform the first fitting trials between parallel bars and with factory settings (See Fig.3).
Then make the adjustments preferably in the following order:
1.
Adjustment R of resistance to flexion intensity during stance phase
2. Adjustment S of the threshold value for entering into swing phase (sensitivity)
3. Adjustment F of flexion angle during swing phase
4. Adjustment E of extension dampening at terminal impact
The foot model used can have an impact on the knee adjustments. The knee should be adjusted each time the foot is changed.
The use of energy return feet such as Dynatrek, Dyna C, Dynastar or DynaCity is recommended.
Ensure the patient's safety in all circumstances and especially during slope or stair descent.
A new adjustment of the knee is necessary after each maintenance operation.
An 2,5 mm hex wrench comes with the knee and allows to make all the adjustments.
1.
Adjustment of resistance intensity during stance phase (screw R)
The 1P130 knee comes with a fairly high adjustment of resistance intensity (Fig. 3).
The first adjustments should be made carefully and very safely to avoid any risk of falling for the patient.
Screw in by successive 1/12 turn to increase resistance during stance phase (braking). Unscrew to do the opposite.
Adjustment range = 3/4 turn (please note : 1 turn = same adjustment)
Between parallel bars, have the patient sit down on a chair in order to set a first braking resistance. In a second time after the other
adjustments, refine the resistance adjustment during stair descent with alternate steps, then during slope descent while ensuring the
patient's safety with a handrail.

To avoid problems
between the tube and
the hydraulic system, the
inside Ø of the tube should be
wider than 29,5 mm.
Do not use a reducing ring
for assembly to a 30 mm Ø
tube.
