TV INTERFACE ART. 1257
Art. 1257 serves to distribute the BUS line video signal from the external units or
remote cameras, to remote monitors, televisions or external DVRs. The device can be
used on systems with Simplebus 1, Simplebus 2 or Simplebus Color wiring. For
connection distances between branch terminal Art. 1214KC and TV interface Art. 1257
refer to Table 1. For all other distances, refer to MT/SBC/01, MT/SB2/01, FT/SBC/04
and FT/SB2/15.

OPERATION
The module is capable of operating in 4 different modes depending on the type of
system:
• Single Address mode (diagram SB2V/020G)
In this mode, at least one coded external unit must be present, with the same address
as set on the module. Art. 1257 will activate only after a call is made to that address. If
connected to the run after mixer Art. 4888 or Art. 4888C, Art. 1257 must be
combined with an internal video unit.
To programme this function, set the desired address on DIP switch IND 1 and leave
IND 2 at zero (Example setting code 7) (Fig. 2).
Fig. 2
• Independent Mode (diagram SB2/ABH)
Use this mode only if Art. 1257 is installed on a run of the system before mixer
Art. 4888, Art. 4888C.
In this mode, the module must have a unique address (not used for other internal
units). Art. 1257 will activate only after a call is made to that address.
To programme this function, set IND 1 to "11111111" and set the desired address on
IND 2 (Example setting code 3) (Fig. 3).
Fig. 3
• Address range mode (diagram SB2V/021G)
In this mode, at least one internal unit must be present for each address included in the
range set on the module. Art. 1257 will activate only after a call is made to these
addresses. If connected to the run after mixer Art. 4888, Art. 4888C, Art. 1257 must
be combined with internal video units.
To programme this function, set the minimum address in the range on DIP switch IND 1
and the maximum address in the range on IND 2 (Example setting MIN code 1 and
MAX code 239) (Fig. 4).
Fig. 4
• Two Single Address mode
In this mode, for each of the two different addresses set on the module, at least one
internal unit must be present. Art. 1257 will activate only after a call is made to these
addresses. If connected to the run after mixer Art. 4888, Art. 4888C, Art. 1257 must
be combined with internal video units.
To programme this function, set the higher address on DIP switch IND1 and the lower
address on IND2 (Example setting code 19 and code 3) (Fig. 5).
