AIR COMPRESSOR - DIRECT DRIVE
START UP PROCEDURE
START UP PROCEDURE
12. Your Schulz compressor is ready to operate. Connect it to the air distribution network and start the
electric motor. When the compressor reaches maximum pressure, open regulator so that the air can
flow into the distribution network. Check if there is any leakage along the tubing, by using a water
and soap lather. In case there is any, eliminate it.
ATTENTION:
!
Note:
1- If there is overheating or overload, the thermal protector 19, located in the electric motor, will
automatically shut the compressor OFF. Motor will re-start as soon as temperature decreases.
2-
The initial start procedure must be repeated whenever maintenance occurs or when the
compressor is moved to another place.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
In order to guarantee the compressor's perfect operation and to extend its life, please follow
!
the recommendations below:
1. Daily
A.
Drain the condensed water from the tank, through drain
7
petcock (Figure 10, page 11).
2. Weekly
A.
Clean the compressor's external surface with neutral part
detergent with a wet cloth.
B.
Verify the operation of the ASME safety valve (Figure 9, page
11).
C
.
Clean the intake filter
Do not wash the filter element.
3. Monthly
A.
Check the operation of the pressure switch (see items 4 and 5 the Start Up Procedure, page 11).
4. Quarterly
A.
Change the intake filter element every 300 (three hundred ) hours or quarterly (whichever occurs
first).
B.
Tighten pump unit bolts (see Table 3, page 13) with a torquemeter and nuts.
12
It the compressor's dimensions are correct, the ideal number of starts is
roughly 6 (six) times per hour.
