PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Filter holder is not inserted in the brew
head properly
There are coffee grounds around the filter rim
Too much coffee in the filter
Coffee has been tamped too firmly
Incorrect filter for amount of coffee used
The water tank is empty or low
Coffee grind is too fine
Machine is blocked by mineral deposits
Water tank is empty
Water tank is not securely in place
Coffee grind is not fine enough (use coffee grind
suitable for espresso machines)
WHAT TO DO
Refer to 'Inserting the filter holder' on page 15.
Clean any excess coffee from the rim of the filter
holder to ensure a proper fit into the brew head.
Refer to 'Preparing the coffee' on page 14.
Refer to 'Tamping the coffee' on page 14.
Ensure you use the small filter for 1 cup of coffee
and the large filter for 2 cups of coffee.

Ensure you use a suitable espresso grind. Refer to
'The Grind' on page 21.
Decalcify the machine; please refer to 'Decalcifying'
on Page 27.
