4) ASSEMBLING THE SHIN
Install socket 5 and cap 1 on the knee. Fix the assembly with
screws 3 and 7. Place the tube.
IMPORTANT : this cosmetic cover is to be
used exclusively with the following shins :
. shin 1G22 for knee 1M112
. Shin 1G32 for knee 1M113
f) With a pencil draw two lines on the
lower face of the intermediate block to
mark location of the two screws 10 of
the linking plate.
Don the shin on the prosthesis and make it lie flat on the cap. The
distance between the upper front border of the shin and the lower
border of the socket must not exceed 5 mm. Determine the excess
shin length. Remove the shin and cut off an horizontal slice that
corresponds to the excess length (we recommend to cut off the slice
in the area indicated with streaks on the diagram). Stick the two parts
and shape the shin to get an aesthetic connexion area. Re-install the
shin on the prosthesis. Then shape its upper part until it matches the
cap shape and its lower part until its becomes consistent with the foot
shape.

g) On the socket sides, 11 mm above the
lower end of the intermediate block and
according to the axes previously drawn
with a pencil on the lower face, drill
2 holes of minimum ø 6 mm. These holes
will be used only to assemble/disassem-
ble the knee (please see instruction sheet
for 1K03/1K30).
