Fig. 1: EcoDrift Parts Diagram
The EcoDrift is for under water operation, only. The max. water depth is 1 m | 40 in. We
recommend to place the pump at least 10 cm | 4 in beneath the surface to prevent the pump from
pulling air. The EcoDrift is designed as a current pump, thus cannot be connected to any piping.
The pump has a ceramic bearing, which has a break-in period of a few days. During that time a
slightly higher noise level may be noticed.
Attaching the EcoDrift pump:
The pump is attached to the aquarium glass with its magnet holder. Once the location of the pump
is determined and the area is prepared for placement, please follow these instructions:
1. Carefully disconnect the outside magnet (9) from the pump assembly without dislodging the
vibration dampener (7) from the pump holder (6).
2. Apply the pump assembly on the inside of the aquarium upon the gasket (8).
3. While holding the pump assembly in place, carefully connect the outside magnet (9) upon the
gasket (8) to the pump assembly.
4. Note: Never disconnect the outside magnet without shutting off the pump and holding the pump
to prevent it from falling.
5. To prevent the pump from pulling air, be sure to place it at least 10 cm | 4 in beneath the surface.
6. To prevent the pump from disturbing the sand bed, avoid mounting it too close, or pointing it to
the bottom of the aquarium.
7. The pump can be adjusted in any direction by simply turning the magnet holder (8 + 9), be sure
to hold the pump preventing it from falling, as well as turning the pump assembly in its holder
(6).
