INSTALLATION, SAFETY AND OPERATIONS
WARNING!
OPERATIONS AND ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS
SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE
EQUIPMENT TURNED OFF AND DISCONNECTED
FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. EXPERT AND QUALIFIED
PERSONNEL MUST CARRY OUT THE ELECTRIC
CONNECTIONS.
LIFTING THE EQUIPMENT
The cooling unit described in this manual is not fitted with
lifting systems.
POSITIONING THE EQUIPMENT
The installation position for the cooling unit must be
chosen to ensure that the cooling air inlet and outlets are
not blocked in any way (forced fan circulation, if fitted); at
the same time, ensure that no conductive dust, corrosive
vapours, humidity, etc. could be sucked in.
A free space of at least 250 mm should be left around
the cooling unit.
WARNING! Position the equipment on a flat
surface adequate to support the weight, to
avoid it tipping over or making dangerous
movements.
CONNECTIONS TO THE POWER SUPPLY
- Before carrying out the electric connections, check
that the data on the specification plate on the cooling
unit corresponds to the power voltage and frequency
supplied in the installation area.
- The cooling unit must be connected to a power supply
with the neutral lead grounded.

PLUG AND SOCKET: connect a normalised plug (2P
+ T) to the supply cable and prepare a socket with
corresponding features: the ground terminal must be
connected to the ground lead (yellow-green) in the supply
line.
The plug and socket must have a rated voltage and
current that corresponds to the technical specifications.
In case the supply is carried out through a socket or a
terminal board, provided for this purpose, on the welding
machine, follow the instructions for the connection given
on its panel.
OPERATIONS
WARNING!
THE TANK CAN ONLY BE FILLED AFTER
HAVING SWITCHED OFF THE APPARATUS
AND DISCONNECTED IT FROM THE MAINS.
ONLY USE DEMINERALISED WATER.
180W
IF WORKING WITH TEMPERATURES OF BELOW 2 °C,
3 bar
WE ADVISE USING ANTIFREEZE WITH AN ETHYLENE
0,95 kW
BASE, OR A MIXTURE OF DEMINERALISED WATER
5 l
AND ETHYLENE GLYCOL.
WATER
DO NOT FOR ANY REASON USE POLYPROPYLENE
17 kg
BASED ANTIFREEZE.
1- Fill the tank through the filler: tank CAPACITY = 2.5 l;
take care not to let the water overflow when the tank is
full.
2- Close the cap on the tank.
3- Connect the torch terminals as follows and make sure
they are correctly inserted, because the unit does not
indicate failed or incorrect connections:
-
-
4- Make the connections to the outlet; turn the switch off
(position I).
The cooling unit will start running making the water
circulate in the torch.
5- After a few minutes' operation, especially if flexible
connection pipes are used as extensions, it will be
necessary to top up the level in the tank by adding an
appropriate amount of water.
6- Check the water level in the tank regularly; if necessary
top up with clean water to this level.
7- In case there is no return flow of water in the tank,
switch off the cooling unit immediately and refer
to the paragraph on maintenance for immediate
intervention.
8- Do not start the unit if the torch pipes are not connected,
otherwise water can flow freely out and damage the
nearby electric circuits.
