MIXER GEARBOX - Restoring the bearings pre-load of the gearbox output shaft
If, after stress during mixing, radial play has developed in the gearbox central shaft due to the two support bearings
losing their pre-load, perform the following restoration:
1. Loosen the screws (part. 3B TABLE 20) which hold in place the register cover (part. 5 TABLE 20) of the upper
conical rollers bearing (part. 5 TABLE 21).
2. Remove the register cover.
3. Using a lathe, reduce the thickness of the register cover on the slot surface by about 1 mm; alternatively, insert
a suitable register shim (obtainable for sale) in the bearing seat found inside the cover.
4. Apply a plastic gasket to the slots contact surface on the gearbox cover.
5. Reassemble the register cover and check the gearbox output shaft for proper stiffness.
