OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Handheld Controller Operation
Power On/Off Button: Press and release to turn the power on. Press and hold for 1 second to turn the power off.
Left or Right Button: Press and hold to move the monitor left or right. Release when desired position is reached.
Up or Down Button: Press and hold to move the monitor up or down. Release when desired position is reached.
Straight or Fog Button: Press and hold to move the nozzle towards straight stream or fog.
Release when desired position is reached.
Aux Button: Press and release to activate one of the three following functions: Stow, Deploy or Oscillate. The particular function
that gets activated depends on which input terminal the Aux white/red wire is connected to. See the section
"ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION OF RECEIVER" above. Warning: The function activates immediately after
the button is pressed. If an unintended Stow or Deploy is activated, press any
button except POWER ON/OFF to stop the action. If an unintended Oscillation is
activated, press LEFT or RIGHT to cancel.
Aux LED: Indicates the state of the Stow/Deploy relay at TB3-08 in the logic box. Normally, the relay is wired to have the LED
Auto Power Off: The Handheld will automatically power off after 30 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.
Low Battery Indication: As the battery voltage falls and approaches the point where the Handheld will no longer function, the
On/Off/Transmit LED will alternate between green and red. When there is approximately 2 hours of continuous
transmission time remaining, the On/Off/Transmit LED will turn red.
Backlight: The Handheld is equipped with a backlight to illuminate the buttons when visibility is limited. However, the
backlight is always off when the Handheld is powered on. To turn on the backlight, press the POWER ON/OFF button again
while the Handheld is on. The backlight will remain on until the Handheld is powered off, either manually by pressing
POWER ON/OFF for 1 second or automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Battery Replacement: Pry the protective rubber boot off of the plastic enclosure.
• For newer Handhelds with two 1.5V AA lithium batteries: Remove the battery cover on the rear of the controller and remove the
old batteries. Replace with new batteries, observing the polarity markings in the battery compartment. Replace the battery cover
and the rubber boot. In an emergency, normal 1.5V AA alkaline batteries can be used to power the controller for several hours
of continuous use.
• For older Handhelds with a single 3V lithium battery: Remove the four screws on the back of the Handheld and carefully remove
the back cover. It may be necessary to use a small screw driver to remove the battery from its holder. Be careful not to damage
any components on the circuit board during battery replacement. Replace the back cover and the rubber boot.

The LED is updated when the Handheld is powered on but thereafter only when the Handheld is moving the monitor or
nozzle. The AUX LED is also updated for 20 seconds after the AUX button is released. The green On/Off/Transmit LED
will continue to flash during the 20 seconds that the Handheld is updating the AUX LED.
