2.8
Draining the system.
To drain the boiler, use the special drain cock (see figure above).
Before draining, ensure that the filling cock is closed.
2.9
Anti-freeze protection.
The "Victrix 24 kW" boiler comes with an antifreeze function that switches
the buerner on automatically when the temperature falls below 4°C (stand-
ard protection to a min. temperature of -5°C). All the information on the
antifreeze protection is given on page 182. In order to guarantee the safety
of the appliance and domestic/heating system in areas where the temperature
drops to below zero, it is recommended that the heating system be protected
with antifreeze and that the Immergas Antifreeze Kit (see page 182) be fitted
to the boiler. In the event of extended periods of inactivity (holiday home),
it is also recommended that you proceed as follows:
- disconnect the power supply;
- empty the boiler's heating circuit and domestic hot water circuit com-
pletely. In appliances subject to frequent draining, the system must be
refilled with suitably treated water to eliminate hardness that may cause
limescale formation.
2.10 Case cleaning.
Use damp cloths and neutral detergent to clean the boiler casing. Never use
abrasive or powder detergents.
2.11 Decommissioning.
In the event of permanent shutdown of the boiler, contact professional
personnel for the procedures and ensure that the electrical, water and gas
supply lines are shut off and disconnected.
