The USB port must not be used for other purposes than those described below. In particular, the USB port
must not be connected to external chargers, power banks, other storage devices or other inappropriate
devices. Risk of damage!

inappropriate use of the USB port.
To prepare for the transfer of the cara Cure Guide, first create a folder on your PC drive where you can save
the cara Cure Guide updates.
Example: C:/cara-Cure-Guide
NOTE
All files required for the update must be saved on one drive of the PC in the same folder and subfolder.
Saving to a cloud or on a USB stick or different directory paths leads to transfer errors/failure and is thus
not permitted.
If you are connecting the PC / laptop / tablet with the LEDcure device, locate the number of the USB COM
port used (COM1, COM2, ...) in the system settings of your PC / laptop / tablet. This COM port setting must
be compared once with the update programme. Enter COM port 7 for the USB interface for data transmission
to LEDcure. IMPORTANT: If the COM port numbers between device and PC do not agree, the data will not
be transmitted.
Steps for the installation and update of the cara Cure Guide
1. Save the current file (e.g. "cCG_V20-01.zip") on your PC and unzip the files received in the folder.
A subfolder with the same version number is created separately for each version.
Example: C:/cara-Cure-Guide/cCG_V20-01. There are two files with the same version label in this subfolder.
Example: "update_COM7_cCG_V20-01.BAT" and "cCG_V20-01.TXT". Important: Do not rename the
files, otherwise the update will not be completed

3. Connect PC / laptop / tablet to the device with a USB cable
4. Turn on the PC / laptop / tablet and select the 'update folder'.
5. On the LEDcure device, press and hold the middle button under the display to turn the device on
(the display remains dark). The device is now in update mode.
6. Start the "Update_COM7_cCG_V20-01.BAT" programme by double clicking. This opens a terminal
screen which displays the files and interface for the update in the uppermost line.
7. If the version number of the file or interface does not agree, stop the process and close the screen.
Check the file versions saved in the folder.
8. If the version number and COM7 interface are correct, confirm the message by pressing a button. The
process bar shows the progress of the update. If the procedure is repeatedly interrupted or an error
occurs during the update, please contact Service/Support. See Section 14.
9. When the update is successful, you will see the messages "AVRDUDE Update done – Thank you!" and
"Press any button". The update screen then closes.
10. The LEDcure device starts automatically with a tone and is ready for use. The material data of the new
cara Cure Guide are automatically transferred and saved. Customer-specific programs are neither
changed nor deleted - see also the following note.
11. Disconnect the USB cable from the device and PC / laptop / tablet. The update process is complete.
NOTE
The total number of programmes (Kulzer + customer programmes) is limited to 165. If a new Kulzer program
is added, the list of customer programs is reduced, beginning with the highest number. Therefore always
save your customer programmes with increasing numbers.
