5. Maintenance

Planned maintenance is recommended and DIN 1988, Part 8
specifies the following operations:
5.1 Inspection of the Pressure Reducing Valve
Annually by the user or a specialist:
1. Close valve 2 .
2. Check the set outlet pressure with a pressure gauge at zero
flow. The pressure must not rise. If the pressure does not
remain stable and slowly rises, the valve seat must be
inspected as described in 5.2 "Pressure reducing valve
maintenance " and if necessary be replaced.
3. Slowly open valve 2 .
5.2 Pressure Reducing Valve Maintenance
To be carried out by a specialist:
The time interval depends on the local operating conditions
(DIN 1988 specifies one to three years)
1. Close valve 1 .
2. Release pressure at side of outlet (e. g. through water tap).
3. Loosen slotted screw 3
G
Do not remove completely.
4. Slacken adjustment spring by turning setting knob anti-
clockwise (-).
5. Close valve 2 .
6. Unscrew spring bonnet.
G
Use double ring wrench ZR10K.
7. Remove slip ring 9 .
8. Remove valve case by using a pair of pliers and pull it
out.
9. Check that seal washer 10 and rim 11 are in good
condition and if necessary replace completely with valve
insert D06FA. To change knurled nut 12 , unsrew filter bowl
13 and guide 14 .
10. Assemble in reverse order.
G
Press in diaphragm with finger and then insert slip ring
(check for correct positioning).
11. Calibrate setting scale as described in section 4.
12. Set the outlet pressure by turning the setting knob
(see section 2).

5.3 Filter Cleaning

G
The filter must be cleaned regularly by reverse rinsing
and at intervals of no longer than two months. This
operation can be carried out by the user.
G
Filter can become blocked if this is not done, resulting
in pressure drop and falling flow rate
G
The filter sieves are stainless steel. Red rust deposits
from the pipework have no effect on function and filter
operation.
Do not forget visual control of ball valve. Exchange in
case of formation of drops!
GB
5.4 Check Valve Testing
The check valve must be tested once a year. This can be done
by the user.
1. Close valve 1 .
2. Open the test valve 15 .
Until the pressure has been relieved, a little water will emit
from the test valve. Emission of water should stop after a
few moments. If water continues to drip or run without
stopping, then the check valve is either damaged or dirty.
This should be corrected by a specialist.
3. Close test valve 15 .
4. Open shutoff valve 1 .
Do not open test valve 2 before the isolating valve 1 is
closed.

6. Scope of Application

Outlet pressure for filter combinations
Connection sizes
With Clear Filter Bowl
Medium
Water up to maximum 40°C
Inlet pressure
Maximum 16.0 bar
Do not use any cleaning materials containing solvents for
cleaning plastic parts.
Use a red-bronze filter bowl in locations where ultra violet
rays or solvent fumes are present.
With Red-bronze Filter Bowl
Medium
Water up to maximum 70°C
Inlet pressure
Maximum 25.0 bar*
* If the water pressure is higher than 16.0 bar, an inlet pressure gauge
with a higher range must be fitted
