• The extension bridge piece 4794-2 pro-
vides an even larger area of application.
• Replace the short standard bridge piece
on 4794-1 with the extension bridge piece
4794-2. This enables an extended dis-
tance between the fixing arms for camshaft
sprockets/injection pump sprockets located
further apart from each other.
PART 2: 4794-3/3
Locking device for
single camshaft engines and
V engines with 2 camshafts
Illustration
• Locking device 4794-3/3 is suited for
single camshaft engines and V engines
with 2 camshafts.
• For fixing the crankshaft sprocket into tim-
ing position during timing belt replacement
and fixing the injection pump sprocket in
various diesel engines.
CAUTION: Suitable for use with camshaft
sprockets/injection pump sprockets with
20 mm - 35 mm width.
Illustration 6, page 3
4794-3/3:
• Locking device 4794-3/3 keeps the cam-
shaft in their timing position to ensure the
engine timing is retained during timing belt
replacements.
• 4794-3/3 is of use primary for aligning
the timing belt markings in V engines and
engine designs in which the camshaft
sprockets are far away from each other.
• Thanks to its compact design, the locking
device 4794-3/3 is also suited for engines in
which there is only a small amount of space
in the engine compartment due to vehicle
design.
Maintenance work on engines must be carried out only by experienced mechanics.

Application:
• 4794-3/3 consists of 3 components – the
basic unit 4794-31 (assembled with the
single parts A, B, C and D), a short lock-
ing pin 4794-32 and a long locking pin
4794-33.
A = Main body
B = Front tensioning jaw
C = Fixing knob
D = Adjusting screw (parallel position)
E = 4794-32
F = 4594-33
• The basic unit 4794-31 is assembled loosely
and secured onto the camshaft sprocket
/ injection pump sprocket. The main body
A must be located on the back side of
the camshaft sprocket / injection pump
sprocket, the front tensioning jaw B at the
front. By tightening the locking knob C,
the basic unit 4794-31 is securely fastened
into position. Select the short 4794-32 or
long 4794-33 locking pin according to the
distance of the basic unit to the engine
block, and screw this through the basic
unit so that it is firmly pressed against the
engine block. The locking device 4794-3/3
and the camshaft sprocket / injection pump
sprocket are now fixed into position.

IMPORTANT:
The adjusting screw D ensures that
when fixing the locking device 4794-
3/3 into position, the main body A and
the front tensioning jaw B remain parallel to
each other.
Always keep locking pins
well lubricated.
