Preliminary note: All of the information in this manual
refers to the mounting plates used with a horizontal
lifeline equipped with a flexible belaying support.
This manual contains all the information you will need
to install the mounting plates for the travflex™ 2 lifeline
and the ringflex anchor ring.
The plates can be used to secure the end anchors,
intermediate anchors and turn anchors of the
travflex™ 2 lifeline as well as the ringflex anchor ring.

1. General warning

1. Associated with the travflex™ 2 or the ringflex
anchor ring lifeline, the plates are designed to
ensure the safety of persons connected to the
lifeline during falls. To ensure safe installation and
use, be sure you have fully read and understood
the information contained in this manual; as such,
you must strictly comply with the guidelines given
before and during installation and use of the lifeline.
2. This manual must be delivered to the person
responsible for management of the lifeline and be
kept available to any user and installer. Additional
copies can be provided by Tractel
request.
3. Each lifeline system installation must be
considered as a unique case. Before installing
a travflex™ 2 lifeline, a specific technical study
must be carried out by a qualified, specialised
technician as concerns its layout, with the
necessary engineering calculations consistent with
the installation specifications, this manual and the
10
travflex™ 2 lifeline manual. The study must take
account into the configuration of the site where
the lifeline will be installed, and more particularly,
the adequacy of the mechanical resistance of the
structure on which the travflex™ 2 lifeline will be
installed, and more particularly the resistance of
the mounting plates with respect to the anchors
to be used. This must be integrated into a usable
technical file by the installer.
4. The plates must be installed using appropriate
means under safety conditions fully covering the
risks of fall by the installer with consideration for the
specific site conditions.
5. Do not install a plate if any markings are not present
or clearly legible. An indication of how these
markings must appear is given at the end of this
manual.
6. The plates must only be used to secure a travflex™ 2
lifeline and the ringflex anchor ring in accordance
with the guidelines given in this manual. No other
use is permitted. In particular, they must never be
used as a suspension system. They must never be
used for a load greater than the load indicated in
this manual.
